GCSE Biology tuition in London
Biology has plenty to remember. We help students understand it, recall it and explain it with the precision exam questions require. At Advanced Tuition in London, GCSE classes of up to five give tutors time to find the cause of a difficulty and work through it properly. Biology is taught within Science on our Years 9–11 pathway.
Understand what happens, step by step
Processes are easier to remember when they make sense. We work through what happens, why it happens and how one stage leads to the next. Students explain it back in their own words, then practise the scientific language they need for a clear answer.
How we teach GCSE Biology
Cells and living systems
We connect cell structures with the jobs they do, then build up to living systems. Asking students to explain each stage shows us where an idea needs another look.
Inheritance and change
Students work through how characteristics are passed on and how living things change. We check the meaning behind the terminology and practise using it accurately.
Organisms and their environment
We look at relationships between organisms and their environment through examples, data and questions. Students learn to explain what the evidence shows and connect it to the biology.
Use knowledge to answer the question
An unfamiliar example can make a familiar topic look difficult. We teach students to read the information carefully, identify the biology involved and build an answer from it. Diagrams, graphs and practical questions are part of that practice, with feedback on the detail and language that earn marks.
Check what has stayed with them
We return to earlier topics through recall questions, practice and assessment. That shows us what a student remembers, what they understand and where the two differ. It also gives revision a clear focus, so time goes into the gaps that still need work.
How Biology fits into the GCSE programme
Biology is part of Science in the complete weekend GCSE programme. Students attend eight hours on Saturday or Sunday: four hours of Biology, Chemistry and Physics together, two of Maths and two of English. The session costs £100 and covers the whole core-subject package.
Weekday tuition focuses on one subject for around three hours, at £12.50 per hour or about £37.50 per session. Ask us about the Science timetable and how Biology support is organised within the available classes.
GCSE Biology FAQs
The weekend programme includes all three sciences alongside Maths and English. Weekday tuition offers subject flexibility. Tell us that Biology is the priority, and we will explain how the available Science classes can support your child.
Tell us whether your child takes Combined Science or separate Biology, together with their tier and exam board. We cover all exam boards and use those details to match the teaching and exam practice to the course.
Yes. We connect a scientific term to the process it describes and practise using it in an explanation. That helps students become more precise when they write under exam conditions.
Yes. Students practise reading graphs, interpreting results and explaining what the evidence supports. We check whether a wrong answer comes from the biology itself or from how the information has been read.
We look at the answer with them and find out why. It may need more precise language, a missing link in the explanation or a closer reading of the question. Students then practise the same skill in another context.
