This Year’s Results at a Glance

 

• Over 5.6 million GCSE results were issued this year in England, covering 133 subjects.
• Top grades (7/A or above) were awarded to 21.8% of entries, slightly above last year and well above pre-pandemic numbers.
• Standard passes (grade 4/C or above) went to 67.1% of entries, a slight decrease from 67.4% in 2024 but consistent with recent years.
• London had the highest percentage of students achieving grade 4 or above at 71.6%, while the North East had the lowest at 64.9%.
• Combined Science remained the most popular subject, with nearly 926,000 results issued in 2025.
