A-Level tuition
A-Level Chemistry tuition in London
Chemistry builds upwards: the early ideas need to be clear before the later reactions and calculations make sense. At Advanced Tuition in London, we teach physical, inorganic and organic chemistry as a complete course. Four-hour weekend sessions in small classes give specialist tutors time to explain, practise and revisit the difficult parts, with resources and support between lessons.

Build the foundations the next topic needs
When a student struggles, we trace the problem back. An unclear idea about bonding, an equation or a calculation may be affecting several topics. We work through that step, connect it to the chemistry being taught and use further questions to check the student can apply it.
Connect the branches of Chemistry
Physical chemistry
We connect the chemical idea with the calculation and work through why the method applies. Students practise setting out their working and keeping track of units.
Inorganic chemistry
Patterns in structure and behaviour become more useful when students can explain them. We work through the evidence and check that the reasoning carries into a different question.
Organic chemistry
Students learn to connect structures, reactions and the reasons a change happens. Selected questions show us where a missing link is making the next step difficult.
Make calculations more manageable
We teach students to identify what they are trying to find, select the useful information and work through the stages. Tutors check the working closely, so a repeated error can be addressed properly. Practice then builds confidence with longer questions.

Turn understanding into a complete answer
Chemistry asks students to move between words, symbols, diagrams and numbers. We practise using those together and explaining the connection. Marked answers show where an equation, a detail or a line of reasoning needs to be more accurate.
Subject specialists teaching the whole course
We teach the full specification, with questions chosen to build particular skills and reveal gaps in understanding. Tutors are assessed on their clarity, subject knowledge and student engagement. Observation, mentoring and feedback continue once they are teaching.
Resources and support between lessons
Students use Moodle to revisit tutor notes, learning materials and selected questions. Our online community gives them a place to post a problem, discuss a method and help another student understand it. Tutors and management are involved, and common difficulties can be revisited in class.
Sessions and fees
Chemistry is taught in four-hour weekend sessions in small classes. Year 12 tuition is £15 per hour and Year 13 tuition is £17.50 per hour. Students can join throughout the year, subject to places in the appropriate class.
Considering Medicine or Dentistry?
Our current students and Advanced Tuition graduates can receive specialist help with competitive applications. That includes admissions-test preparation, university choices, written applications and interviews. The team and alumni bring first-hand experience of the process; speak to us about the support relevant to your plans.
Questions
A-Level Chemistry FAQs
We teach the full course in a planned sequence, with practice, assessment and exam preparation throughout. When a student has a gap, the tutor works through it and checks the understanding again.
Yes. Organic chemistry is part of the complete programme. We work through structures and reactions, check the connections between them and practise applying the ideas to exam questions.
We look through your working and find the step that has become unclear. Then we explain the quantities and relationship involved, work through the method and practise it in another question.
Yes, we cover all exam boards. Tell us your qualification and board so we can match the teaching and exam practice to your course and explain the right class.
Your school or college remains the place to check required practical work and its assessment. We support understanding and practical-question skills through tuition. Ask the team about any specific practical support you need.
