A-Level Results Day 2025: Celebrating Success & Embracing Second Chances with Advanced Tuition

Thursday 14th August is A-Level Results Day 2025, a milestone that marks the start of exciting new journeys. Across the UK, students will open their envelopes or check UCAS Track to discover their next chapter, whether that is university, an apprenticeship, or another pathway.

At Advanced Tuition, our message is simple: We Don’t Tutor, We Teach. That means our role does not end when exams finish. For over a decade, we have been helping students prepare for Results Day, understand their options, and take the right next steps no matter the outcome.

Our alumni have progressed to some of the UK’s most prestigious universities including Oxford, Imperial College London, London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL), University of Bath, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, and University of Warwick and into competitive careers in Medicine, Dentistry, Aerospace Engineering, Economics, Finance, and more.

Celebrate and Access Free Results Day Guidance

Results Day is a milestone worth celebrating. Whether you are delighted with your grades, considering a change of course, or facing unexpected results, Advanced Tuition is here to guide you.

We provide free Results Day guidance, explaining exactly how the day works and what your options are in every scenario. From understanding UCAS and Clearing to planning a re-sit year, our aim is to make sure you leave Results Day with a clear plan for the future.

Four Common Results Day Scenarios and What To Do Next

1. Met Offer Conditions

Congratulations. You will receive confirmation from UCAS with instructions on how to proceed.

2. Exceeded Offer Conditions

You may wish to explore higher-ranked universities or alternative courses via UCAS Clearing. Since 2022, “Adjustment” has been absorbed into Clearing, so call admissions offices directly to discuss your options.

3. Missed Offer Conditions

If you have missed your grades by one or two marks, call the universities you applied to. They may still offer you a place. You can also search for courses through Clearing.

4. Results Below Expectations

This could be the perfect time to consider re-sitting your A-Levels. Many of our alumni have taken this path and gone on to top universities and careers in STEM and finance.

When Things Don’t Go to Plan, You Are Not Alone

Not everyone will get the grades they hoped for, and that is okay. You are far from alone.

According to UCAS, thousands of students across the UK re-sit their A-Levels each year. In 2023 alone:

Over 17,000 A-Level re-sits were recorded in England.
More than 60% of re-sit students received offers from their first-choice university.
Russell Group universities, including Oxford, Imperial, and Warwick, regularly admit re-sit applicants who have improved their grades and demonstrated determination.

These figures show that your results today do not define your tomorrow.

Our Alumni Prove Re-Sits Work

Over the past decade, AT students have re-sat their A-Levels and then progressed to prestigious universities including Oxford, Imperial College London, LSE, UCL, University of Bath, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, and University of Warwick.

They have gone on to study:

Medicine & Dentistry
Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering
Economics & Finance
Biomedical Sciences

Their success stories prove there is no shame in taking a different route to your dream career.
