English is established as one of the most common languages spoken worldwide. This course focuses on personal and immediate language contexts where texts range across centuries, genre and gender. Students will be expanding on their previous knowledge in the classics such as Shakespeare as well as exploring modern issues for example ‘a view from the bridge’. Students will gain skills to become independent readers and achieve a greater understanding of a variety of views and texts and how to read them.
They will be encouraged to read widely and critically analyse how certain texts produce knowledge and ideas about language and literature, students will develop the skills to challenge these discourses. This will stretch and challenge learners as they seek to communicate their insights and knowledge beyond the confines of their academic community.
At Advanced Tuition we provide students with a significant understanding of the content and assist in developing the required skills to pass both Language and Literature at GCSE’s and A-levels. We also help them develop skills to tackle coursework’s to attain a high grade.
