A-Level Further Maths tuition in London
Further Maths takes familiar ideas further and introduces new ways of solving a problem. At Advanced Tuition in London, students study it alongside their main Maths programme in small, specialist classes. Four-hour weekend sessions give tutors time to teach the course, work through demanding questions and find the step that is holding a student back.
Find the step that needs work
A difficult question may combine a new idea with several skills learned earlier. We look through the student's working and separate those parts. Once the sticking point is clear, we teach it, practise it and return to the question so the student can see how the solution fits together.
How we develop Further Maths understanding
Make the connection
We explain how a new idea builds on what students already know. That connection gives them a starting point when the notation or method feels unfamiliar.
Set out the reasoning
Students practise choosing an approach, showing the stages and explaining why they work. Clear working helps both the student and tutor spot where a solution has gone wrong.
Apply it somewhere new
Our questions are chosen to test particular skills and reveal gaps. We revisit difficult attempts and check the same idea in another setting, so understanding becomes more secure.
Teaching matched to your course
We cover all exam boards. Further Maths options vary, so tell us your specification and modules when you enquire. We will explain the relevant class and how the teaching fits alongside your main Maths course, with practice and exam preparation throughout.
Tutors who can explain the difficult step
A-Level tutors are assessed on their teaching, clarity and student engagement. Wherever possible, they develop through our GCSE department before moving into A-Level. Observation, mentoring and feedback continue, helping us maintain the standard in every class.
Keep working together between lessons
Students can return to tutor notes and selected questions through Moodle, then raise a difficult problem in the online community. Discussing an approach with other students and tutors helps them see a different route through it and identify what to bring to the next session.
